How to Make Scraps of Fabric Elegant

The Key is to Use a Monochromatic Scheme

These examples are done in shades of ecru, tan and beige.  Simple wisps of color brought together to form a lovely composition.  The frayed edges add to the natural, organic feel of these brooches.

Feminine, Yet Masculine at the Same Time

Think These Are Just for Us Ladies?  Think Again

Add a feminine touch to that power suit or amp up the charms of a favorite lace dress.

With the right accents, it can even serve as a boutonniere for a very unique wedding party.  Just by adding natural elements such as small pieces of wood, straw and even beach pebbles will give it an organic feel and a masculine touch.

Add a Touch of Color

 Without Adding the Gaudiness

You can add a bit of drama to your fabric brooch y adding a subtle hint of color.  Soft pastels with barely a whisper of color works best.  Soft blue-greys and sage greens are beautiful.  Give it a touch of blush in a barely there pink.
